First Post

Welcome! This is a community blog. Once we get underway there will be several contributors to this blog. This blog will also serve multiple purposes. For one, it will serve as a place for people at Koinonia Community to share their experiences of living in community. You will see what is happening here ~ our progress and our struggles. But that is just part of the purpose.

Several years ago, my husband and I felt led to homeschool our two daughters. We believe that everything in our lives has the potential to be a tool for learning or teaching. We don't just watch a movie....we discuss movies and research things that spark our interest in the movie. We don't just read a book....we delve into the meanings of the words and the situations encountered by the characters.

The internet is no different. We have decided to use the desire our daughters have to share their interests with others online as a tool for learning and teaching. They will use this blog for creative writing. They will use this blog for sharing what projects they are working on, places they have visited, or something new they have learned. You may read about the latest book that has struck their fancy, or see their latest sewing project. You may see the results of their developing photography skills.

I just ask that you help me to encourage them and show interest in their efforts so they will continue to write, write, write, and create, create, create. Enjoy your visit at the Funny Farm.
